Board election

LGIAsuper holds elections for member representative directors every four years, the latest of which was in 2018.

Member representative directors announced

Results of the recent member representative elections have been announced, with LGIAsuper Chair, John Smith, naming Jennifer Sanders, Ray Burton and Ros Heit as the successful candidates.

Meet our elected Member representatives:

Ray Burton

  • Has worked in local government for 41 years, 24 of those as CEO
  • Was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2015 for services to local government.
  • Holds an MBA and tertiary qualifications in local government and accounting.
  • A Fellow of Local Government Managers Australia and Australian Institute of Company Directors.
  • Has held several Board positions including LGMA (Qld); LGMA (National); the Brisbane North institute of TAFE; and the Pine Rivers Bendigo Bank Community Bank.
  • Is admirably qualified to represent LGIA Super members and will seek to ensure the members’ interests are protected and their Super Fund earning potential is optimized

Jennifer Sanders

I will work for you and your retirement by concentrating on maximising your returns while reducing risk! I am an experienced Board President and Chair and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). I have previously worked in the superannuation industry with AXA, AMP, MLC and LG Superannuation. I have Bachelor and post graduate qualifications. I focus on Board management, risk oversight and governance.

I have the experience, knowledge and understanding that you require to be an active and productive Board member.

Ros Heit

Ros has had a strong managerial career in the Community sector, is currently an elected Councillor in the South Burnett and is an experienced board member. Ros’ key strengths lie in the areas of financial management, board governance, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement and communications.

Ros is honest and logical and will be diligent in questioning and challenging to ensure the LGIA members get the best from their superannuation whilst ensuring the security of the funds held. She has a track record of working and advocating for people and will work hard for each and every LGIA member.
