Howdy from the Community Hub!

Canteen Foundation

We kicked off the North Queensland Cowboys NRL footy season with the launch of the LGIAsuper Community Hub and Howdy Club program at 1300SMILES Stadium in Townsville on the weekend.

The LGIAsuper Community Hub is located on the Western gate side of the stadium and plays host to 12 not-for-profit organisations throughout the season to help them raise awareness for their cause. The Hub reflects the Cowboys and LGIAsuper’s commitment to assisting charities and local community organisations by providing them a platform to generate interest and support.

This week we partnered with HeartKids Queensland who work wonders in supporting families to improve the lives and futures of those affected by childhood heart disease. You can make a difference today by donating through their website.

The LGIAsuper Community Hub is also home to the Howdy Club, which gives Cowboys fans the opportunity to sign up and score free merchandise at every home game, plus enter exclusive Cowboys competitions. We had a great turnout of passionate Cowboys fans stopping by to support the charity and grab a Howdy Hat.

During the game LGIAsuper also had the opportunity to meet our guests from CanTeen who received our donation of 20 tickets to the game. The CanTeen crew also got to meet footy legend Matty Bowen and see their favourite team claim victory against the Sharks 20-14 – what a great game to see live!

A big thank you to all the people who came to sign up to the Howdy Club. It was great to meet you all and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

If you missed out on signing up to the Howdy Club to receive your free Howdy Hat, don’t worry. We’ll be at the LGIAsuper Community Hub every home game to give out merchandise. We hope to see you there on Thursday 17 March when the Cowboys take on the Roosters.
