LGIAsuper Player Ambassador Michael Morgan led the North Queensland Cowboys to a 20-8 victory over the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday night at 1300SMILES Stadium.

The home side were again without star half Johnathan Thurston and struggled to convert early opportunities into points against a gritty Titans outfit. But Morgan and State of Origin hopeful Coen Hess led the charge in the second stanza, helping turn an 8-6 half-time deficit into a comfortable 12 point victory.

Visitors to the LGIAsuper Community Hub were kept entertained with our friendly team handing out Howdy hats to new sign-ups and Cowboys wigs to returning members. We also hosted Muscular Dystrophy Queensland.

Muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular, genetic disorder which results in the progressive deterioration of muscle strength and function. Muscular Dystrophy Queensland works to ensure that people with the condition – and their carers have access to support, preventative health education, services and community assistance.

If you’d like to know more about Muscular Dystrophy Queensland, you can visit their website. For those interested in attending the upcoming Bridge to Brisbane charity event, you can register here. Early bird tickets are available from just $40 with proceeds going to a terrific cause.

After four weeks away from 1300SMILES Stadium, the LGIAsuper Community Hub was excited to be back in Townsville for the Cowboys big win over the Titans. A big shout out to the boys and staff from NRL Cowboys House who participated in the guard of honour as the players entered the field.

As a Founding Friend of the House, we’re committed to helping young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids from remote parts of Queensland complete their education and find jobs. We allocate tickets at each home game for students who have put in a big effort during the week – whether it be completing their homework or keeping their room tidy.

Congratulations also to our ‘Cowboys Game Day Experience’ winners who enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of 1300SMILES Stadium and grandstand tickets to the match. Thanks for your support of LGIAsuper and the North Queensland Cowboys!

We’ll be back on Saturday 24 June for the Cowboys-Panthers Round 16 clash at the earlier-than-usual time of 3pm. Remember, you can share your night with other Cowboys fans on social media by tagging #nqhowdyclub
