Starting a new job can be stressful enough without having to worry about additional ‘life admin.’

3. Nominate a beneficiary

Have you thought about what might happen to your super benefit when you die? It might sound a little morbid but if you have money in your super account or insurance you should nominate a beneficiary so that your money goes exactly where you want it to when you die. 4. Consider a salary sacrifice arrangement

Salary sacrifice is when you and your employer agree to pay a certain amount of money into your super from your before-tax pay.

Why is it a good thing for most people? By contributing a percentage of your pre-tax salary into your super, not only are you increasing your super balance, but you could be reducing your overall taxable income. That means you could be left with more money to spend now, on the things that matter to you.
