Remote communities hungry for super knowledge
Flying through the skies in a tiny 13-seat plane might not sound like much fun, but nothing could wipe the smile off Relationship Manager Darren Cali’s face as he recounted his tour of remote councils in far North Queensland.
‘I was humbled by the reception I received from our valued members. It was an amazing experience.’
Darren’s itinerary included the Lockhart River, Hope Vale and Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Councils, as well as the Mornington and Burke Shire Councils. He said the trip was a real eye opener.
‘I was impressed by the level of enthusiasm shown by members who wanted to learn more about their super. I really enjoyed being able to talk to so many members about the issues that impacted them most.’
Darren’s trip was just one example of the fine work performed by our Employer Relations and Member Education teams. Both travel regularly across the state visiting remote communities, council offices, depots and other workplaces to give you the information you need to help you understand your super and how to make it work harder for you.
We also run free seminars at a range of venues so that you, your family and friends can all plan for a stronger financial future.
LGIAsuper might now be an open fund, but our priorities haven’t changed. We remain committed to helping our members work towards a comfortable and enjoyable retirement – no matter where they live.
Super seminars are back
Not many super funds travel as far and as wide as LGIAsuper to deliver important information to their members about super.
We take great pride in our member-first approach and enjoy talking super with hard-working Queenslanders and retirees across the State.
Our members are invited to come along to one of our free seminars for a cup of tea, some cake and a slice of super knowledge! Friends and family of members are also welcome to attend.
