Changing jobs? Did you know you can stay with us?

Published 24 November 2020

If you change jobs, did you know that you can take LGIAsuper with you?

Changing your job doesn’t mean you need to change your superannuation fund. Even though your new employer may have a preferred or default fund, you usually have the right to choose where you want to keep your superannuation.

LGIAsuper is open to the public, available to everyone. You can work in either public or private sectors and still be an LGIAsuper member. Most employers in Australia can contribute to your LGIAsuper account, even if they have a different default superannuation fund.

So, wherever you work, you are always welcome to stay with LGIAsuper.

How to stay with us

If you are changing jobs and would like to stay with LGIAsuper, you will need to give your account details to your new employer.

We have made it easy for you to do this:

Help and advice

If you need further information or advice, our team of superannuation specialists are here to help you.

We offer our members Super Health Check appointments over the phone or video call, at no additional cost. We look at the current health of your superannuation, discuss different ways to grow it, and check that you are on track for a comfortable retirement.

Our financial advice service* can help you plan for a better financial future. LGIAsuper members can receive limited advice on a single topic related to superannuation, such as salary sacrificing or choosing an investment option, at no additional cost.

More comprehensive financial advice is also available, and fees will vary depending on the type and complexity of advice.

Call us on 1800 444 396 to discuss the type of appointment that would suit you best.

* LGIAsuper has engaged Industry Fund Services Limited (IFS) ABN 54 007 016 195 AFSL No 232514 to facilitate the provision of financial advice to members of LGIAsuper. LGIAsuper Financial Advisers are Authorised Representatives of IFS.
