Alexandra accepts the 2019 LGIAsuper Community Volunteer Award

First published: November 12

Nominations for this year’s award close on Thursday 12 December 2019. Links for nominating yourself or referring someone else are provided below.

The winner of 2019’s award was Alexandra Wells from the Gold Coast. Alexandra established an inclusive sports program for children with special needs when she was only 15 years old – a program that now features 90 athletes and 100 volunteers who coach motor skills, teamwork and leadership.

In 2018 we recognised the incredible work of Mykeala Campanini, who founded the animal rescue charity Happy Tails Animal Rescue, Queensland's first purpose-built facility to provide safety for pets when families flee domestic violence.

How to nominate

If you would like to join Alexandra, Mykeala and previous winners in being acknowledged for your outstanding leadership, vision and commitment in improving the lives of those less fortunate than you, submit your nomination for the LGIAsuper Community Volunteer Award.
