Financial Adviser

I have worked in financial planning for over 15 years in a variety of roles including paraplanning, technical support and advising. I have experience providing advice on investing, tax, Centrelink, estate planning, insurances and of course, superannuation. I’m passionate about advising on superannuation in particular because it is an excellent tool for saving for retirement but the many ever-changing rules can make managing superannuation seem daunting. I aim to provide advice in a way that is easy to understand and allows members to enjoy their retirement, instead of worrying about their super.

Mark Rabius - AdvDipFP

Financial Adviser

I have been involved in the superannuation industry for over 30 years, starting out in administration for a large Queensland-based provider of Defined Benefit and industry funds in the early 90s. After a number of years in that role I started to wonder where the money was going when people retired, so for the past 25 years (silver jubilee) I’ve been in the financial advice industry. I began my advice career in the back office researching, modelling, and writing financial documents before coming to Energy Super to sit in front of the members to provide them with advice. I currently spend most of my days helping my clients navigate themselves towards retirement, and then setting up their finances to help them move into a successful and enjoyable retirement.

I enjoy helping people to achieve a better outcome than when they first came to see me. Sometimes that’s with a large reorganisation of their finances, but sometimes it’s simply a conversation. It’s nice to know that I can make a positive difference to people by helping them navigate through a period in their lives that they’ve probably not gone through before, and, if done properly, won’t need to try again.

I completed a Diploma of Financial Planning near the turn of the Century and, like many advisers of my vintage, have recently taken up further study to ensure that my skills and knowledge remain relevant in this ever-changing industry. I am also an Associate Financial Planner licensed by the Financial Planning Association, and you can find my details on the ASIC adviser register.
