Results of the recent member representative elections have been announced, with LGIAsuper Chair, John Smith, naming Jennifer Sanders, Ray Burton and Ros Heit as the successful candidates.

Mr Smith thanked retiring member representative Directors Noel Cass, Fiona Connor and Ron Curtis for their long and dedicated service, particularly their hard work in helping steer the fund through its transition to a public offer fund in 2017.

Mr Smith also said Sunshine Coast Mayor and Local Government Association of Queensland President, Mark Jamieson, would join the Board as an employer representative Director. He paid tribute to the outgoing employer representative Director, Margaret de Wit OAM, who has served on the Board since June 2013.

The incoming Directors will commence four-year terms on 1 July 2018.

Mr Smith said the incoming Directors had a broad range of skills and experience, which all members would benefit from.

“LGIAsuper is one of the few funds to benefit from equal representation of member-appointed Directors, employer-nominated Directors and independent Directors, including an independent Chair,” he said.

“Our industry-leading governance leads to more diverse Board representation, and ultimately, stronger leadership for our 85,000-strong member base,” he added.
