LGIAsuper is a Queensland-based superannuation fund that has provided trusted and reliable investment, advice and insurance for more than 50 years.
We look after around $24 billion in retirement savings for approximately 123,000 members (as at 1 July 2021).
LGIAsuper is a profit-for-members fund, so our members always come first. We are also an open fund, welcoming members from government and private sectors, and the wider community.
LGIAsuper has been the superannuation fund for Queensland local government employees and their spouses since 1965.
In 2017, LGIAsuper became an open fund – which means we open to the wider community and can welcome new members from many different sectors and industries.
On 1 July 2021, LGIAsuper merged with Energy Super. The merger was by way of a Successor Fund Transfer (SFT) which involved Energy Super members and their benefits being transferred to LGIAsuper. The merger created a single fund, which is managed by the LGIAsuper Trustee.
Like LGIAsuper, Energy Super was a profit-for-member fund and an open fund with members from government and private sectors. By combining the two funds, we expect to deliver better services and lower costs for all our members.
In 2022, LGIAsuper expects to complete its acquisition of Suncorp’s superannuation business, Suncorp Portfolio Services Limited (SPSL). When the Suncorp transaction is completed, LGIAsuper’s fund size will be around $28 billion with approximately 250,000 members.
We offer a range of benefits to help you get the most from your super and plan for a stronger financial future.
We are a profit-for-members fund. We don’t have any shareholders to pay, and we don’t pay commissions to financial advisers. We work hard to keep fees as low as possible, and any profit is put back into the fund for the benefit of all our members.
LGIAsuper prides itself on a strong member focus. Our members always come first in everything we do. We are proud to be a boutique fund which enables us to stay close to our members, understand their needs, and provide them with a personalised service.
